Week 16 MLS Picks
After a two-month break for the FIFA World Cup, MLS is back tonight! We’ve got four games on Thursday and another pair on Friday to ease us back into the action. Even though it’s a limited slate we’re too excited for the return of league play to stay away from some picks in Week 16.
The official league injury report for Thursday’s games came out Wednesday afternoon, let’s dive into the Week 16 picks.

Week 16 Picks
St. Louis City SC vs Sporting KC O 2.5 + Nashville SC To Win
Parlay +102
There’s a significant amount of uncertainty surrounding the 12 teams coming out of the World Cup break this week. Not only do most clubs have extensive injury reports this week but there’s also been player movement throughout the break, with the transfer window officially opening this past Monday morning. So we’re going to start by pairing two picks together that feel like strong options in rivalry matches.
First we’ll begin with SKC and St. Louis City SC, where the total is set in most places at 3.5 goals. That’s an appropriate number, considering that these two clubs don’t just love to let goals in, they also love to score on each other. So we’re going to take the total down to 2.5 (-255), a number that these two teams have gone over in eight of their ten all-time meetings dating back to 2023.
Then we’re going to pair it with Nashville SC (-225), the current leaders in the Supporter’s Shield race, to beat Atlanta United at home on Thursday. The Five Stripes are at the opposite end of the table, with only Philadelphia Union owning a worse record coming out of the break. Nashville is the best home team in MLS this season on a points per game basis and already defeated ATL 2-0 in the first meeting this season. Those two picks together give us a nice even-money parlay option spanning both days of Week 16.
LAFC
ML +125
The league really did do a good job with the scheduling of these “showcase” games happening between the semifinals and the final round of the World Cup. We’ve got a Friday night El Trafico on tap and although they limped into the break losing three of their last four games, our eyes still light up when we see LAFC at plus money. A fully rested Black and Gold should be able to get back on track against a neutered LA Galaxy attack. Not only are the Galaxy still without Riqui Puig and Joao Klauss, they also just sold Gabriel Pec (the team’s leading goalscorer) to Cruzeiro last week for a $12 million fee. We’ll take LAFC to nab all three points from their cross-town rivals.
