Week 17 MLS Picks
We started the second half of the MLS season with a bang last week and hoping to get another win streak started in the summer months. After just six games in MLS’s return, we’ve got all 30 teams in action in the midweek.
The official league injury report for Wednesday’s games came out Tuesday afternoon, let’s dive into the Week 17 picks.
Pick’Em Entry of the week
Unfortunately Underdog has informed us there won’t be MLS picks offered this week as they work through a technical issue. We hope to be back with a Pick’em entry in Week 18.

Week 17 Picks
New York Red Bulls
DNB +235
Red Bulls were far from consistent in the first half of the season, but they did go into the break earning 10 points from their last four matches. The Union on the other hand are still holding the wooden spoon with just seven points from their 15 games. While Philly has Kai Wagner back and ready to go tonight along with a season debut off the bench expected from Quinn Sullivan, who has recovered from his ACL injury, this is still too high a number for a fifth place team in the East squaring off against the last place team in the league. Stud centerback Olwethu Makhanya is also holding out for Philly as the season restarts, which is a big loss for a back line that is already struggling mightily. Red Bulls also have a relatively clean injury report, so we’re going to take them on the draw-no-bet to spoil the re-Union (heh) at Subaru Park at more than two-to-one.
Chicago Fire
ML +190
After their match last week was postponed due to poor air quality, the Fire now travel to Nu Stadium to take on Inter Miami. The home side will be without both Lionel Messi and Rodrigo De Paul and while they have plenty of talent remaining at their disposal (names like German Berterame, Sergio Reguilon, Telasco Segovia etc), we aren’t expecting Miami to look all that cohesive. Getting Chicago at nearly two-to-one to win this game as they’re expected to debut Robert Lewandowski tonight feels pretty good. Phillip Zinckernagel is looking to bounce back from a relatively disappointing first half of the season and Jonathan Bamba is also expected to play after missing multiple games leading up to the break. We’re taking the Fire to earn all three points on the road against Messi-less Miami.
FC Cincinnati
ML +275
All four of our picks this week are following the same theme of attacking perceived value in the market. Are the Knifey Lions at the level of the Whitecaps on a game-in game-out basis? Surely not. But there isn’t a huge gulf between the two and with Cincy sporting a clean injury report, getting Evander and Co. at home at nearly three-to-one to win is just too good of a number to pass up, especially when they’ve been relatively strong in the friendly confines of TQL Stadium.
Austin FC
ML +200
sigh… Here were are again, backing (likely foolishly) our favorite team as underdogs. Austin FC limped into the break with potentially the worst three-game stretch in club history. But they’re restarting the 2026 season at home on Wednesday hosting a beat up Seattle Sounders side who will be without a lengthy list of key players. This number has been dropping since injury reports were released on Tuesday, so we’re going to grab the Verde and Black to take all three points at home against a Sounders team that is coming off their worst home loss in club history and have another road match against wooden spoon holding Philadelphia on Saturday.
