Week 20 MLS Picks

When we last convened prior to the Leagues Cup break we were able to stop the bleeding and pick up a few units at the books. With MLS play returning on Saturday, we’re full steam ahead towards the second half of the season.

The official league injury report for Saturday’s games came out Friday afternoon, let’s dive into the Week 20 picks.

Pick’Em Entry of the week

Unfortunately, Underdog Fantasy decided to pull MLS props from their pick’em board once again this week. We hope to return with an entry next week and are mulling options for other pick’em solutions for the rest of the season.

Week 20 Picks

ORL/CIN O 2.5 + Houston Dynamo ML

Parlay +108

We’ve got a pair of parlays to begin our Week 20 picks and we’ll start in Orlando where it’s Lions vs Lions on Saturday night. If you’ve been following the picks this season you know we love bringing an FC Cincinnati total down when we can and this game presents another great opportunity to do so. There have been 89 goals across the 18 MLS matches Cincy has played in this season and these two teams combined for eight goals in their first meeting.

To be able to stomach the -350 from that alternate total we’re going to begrudgingly bring in the Orange team, who are hosting a diminished LA Galaxy side on Saturday night. They’ll be without Marco Reus, Erik Thommy and Miki Yamane on top of the long term injuries to Riqui Puig and Joao Klauss. Keep in mind they also sold Gabriel Pec and Edwin Cerrillo a few weeks back. They brought Chucky Lozano in on loan from San Diego, but that doesn’t change the fact they’re far from a complete team. Houston on the other hand is hot right now, winners of three straight and carrying a clean bill of health when it comes to their attacking players. Adding Houston to win brings our two-leg parlay to just on the good side of plus money.

LAFC ML + LAFC/SD O 2.5

Parlay +106

Our second parlay of the weekend will be a “same-game parlay” backing the Black and Gold at home. LAFC will host San Diego FC in the late window on Saturday night and they have found their form. The last time LAFC lost a match was all the way back on May 17 and that was a 3-2 road defeat at the hands of the Supporter’s Shield leading Nashville SC. San Diego on the other hand has steadied the ship, at least relative to their noticeable dip in form leading up to the World Cup break. They’re sitting in 13th place in the Western Conference entering the weekend, so we’ll take LAFC to win at home and for the game to go over 2.5 goals, something that’s happened every time these two teams have met since San Diego joined MLS prior to the 2025 season.

Austin FC

ML +180

Obligatory bias warning: We’re back in, especially with FC Dallas coming to town. The Verde and Black are coming off three straight positive performances in Leagues Cup and historically play much better against Dallas at Q2 Stadium than in Frisco. We’ll back our boys at nearly two-to-one.

Vancouver Whitecaps

ML -125

We’re going to continue to pick on the injury plagued Seattle Sounders until their situation improves or the juice gets out of control. The Whitecaps are in town for the next chapter of the Cascadia rivalry and are unsurprisingly the favorites to take all three points here. The Sounders are still on a club record six-game losing streak in league play and have lost eight of their last nine matches in all competitions. We’ll get the full picture of what Seattle is working with when the Sunday injury report drops on Saturday afternoon, so you can wait to place this until then if you want, just don’t be shocked if you get a worse price by holding off for that information to be confirmed.
