Week 29 MLS picks

Boy, that was a beating we took headed into the international break. We’re entering the true home stretch of the MLS season and we’re nearly back where we started in terms of our results. It’s a sprint to the finish line over the next month, so we’re getting back up on the horse and charging forward.

The official league injury report for Saturday’s games came out Friday afternoon, let’s dive into the Week 29 picks.

Pick’Em Entry of the week

Unfortunately, Underdog Fantasy has decided to exit the MLS prop pick’em market at this time. So we’re going to pick things back up on PrizePicks for the time being. If you want to play along with us, you can sign up for PrizePicks through this link.

We’re on a terrible run right now all around, with five straight pick’em misses. We’re getting back to the basics on Saturday and pairing two fantasy score props from some of the most heliocentric midfielders from a fantasy perspective. Carles Gil is still the engine of the New England offense and surprsingly has the Revs in second place in the Eastern Conference. He brings an elite fantasy floor/ceiling combo and ranks ninth in the league in crosses and fifth in fouls drawn. Gil is over this number in four of his last five games. Zinckernagel on the other hand has been a bit of a fantasy disappointment this season, at least relative to the bar he set for himself last season. That said, his ceiling has been nerfed due to a lack of goal contributions (0.97 per 90 last season, down to 0.6 per 90 in 2026) but his fantasy floor remains high. The Chicago midfielder ranks third in crosses and eleventh in fouls drawn this season and has gone over this number in three of his last four appearances.

Using the standard payout selection on PrizePicks this two-pick entry will payout a prize of 3.0x your entry fee if successful.

Week 29 Picks

San Diego FC

ML +140

Last year’s expansion darlings were in a rut headed into the international break, going winless in their last five matches. Now they’ll travel to New Jersey to take on New York Red Bulls on Saturday night, who have been one of the worst home sides in MLS this season, earning just 15 points from their 13 matches with a league-worst -8 goal differential. San Diego is coming into this one with the cleanest injury report they’ve seen all season. While NYRB have some young exciting prospects who just showed out with the USMNT over the last two weeks, there’s decidedly more talent on the visitors roster, including last year’s MVP runner up Anders Dreyer. We’ll take San Diego to win on the road.

Nashville SC

ML -110

We spent a good deal of time deciding on whether or not to make this a two-unit play. Ultimately we held off, but this is as good a spot as any for the current Supporter’s Shield leaders. Nashville are coming into this one with a clean bill of health and are quite clearly the more talented and deeper side. That hasn’t stopped Austin from pulling results out of their butts over the last two months, as the home side is unbeaten in their last eight games. But that streak is likely to end on Saturday night and it’s a little surprising that Nashville’s odds to win aren’t shorter in this spot.

POrtland Timbers

ML +155

Sporting KC picked up a little momentum going into the break, winning two of their last four, against LAFC and Houston Dynamo of all teams. However, they posted a lengthy injury report on Friday that includes absences for Owen Wolff, Capita Capemba and Jake Davis, along with a questionable tag for Lasse Berg Johnsen. New DP Andre Luiz has been a revelation, but he’s not enough for us to stay away from the Timbers in this must win spot against the likely wooden spoon winning SKC. We’ll grab Portland to take all three points back home to the PNW.

ATL/CIN U 4.5 + MIN/HOU U 3.5

Parlay +100

Pairing these totals together for a nice even money parlay. Cincinnati is without Evander due to a leg injury for this match, which kneecaps the Knifey Lions attack overall. They’re in Atlanta to take on the Five Stripes on Saturday, who are tied for the lowest goals per game in the league with Sporting KC. The all time head-to-head series between these two has gone under this number in 16 of 17 games dating back to 2019.

Then we’ll jump to Minnesota where the Loons will host the Dynamo. We’re really targeting Houston in this spot, who have been one of the most offensively dormant teams since the return from the World Cup break and have scored the third fewest goals in MLS this season despite being ninth in the Supporter’s Shield standings. Minnesota hasn’t been quite so quiet on the scoreboard in 2026, but they have some significant home/road splits. Loons home games have seen just 2.3 goals per game this year, so we’ll grab the under to get this to even money.
