Week 8 MLS Picks
The goal scorers carried the picks last week, adding back nearly double digit units to the early season hole we dug for ourselves. With 2/3 of that deficit clawed back, we’re focused on inching even closer to even this weekend now that a fresh start is within striking distance.
The official league injury report for Saturday’s games came out Friday afternoon, let’s dive into the Week 8 picks.
Pick’Em Entry of the week
Each match week, we’ll have a pick’em entry for you to tail if your heart desires. This week we’re playing on Underdog Fantasy. If you want to play along with us at Underdog, you can sign up today using this link. Let’s get to the board and build a winner!
Going to be an early one for the pick’em in Week 8, so feel free to peruse our additional picks for the match day listed below.
We’ll begin with Bradley Scott Stuver and take the under on his goals allowed prop. Austin FC has been in poor form, but they’ve got a decent matchup on Saturday afternoon, even on the road. Toronto has scored two or more goals in two of their four games at home so far this year, but they only did so in three of 17 home fixtures (and seven of 34 overall) in 2025. Without Djordje Mihailovic, they’re -150 to score fewer than two goals in this game.
Then we’ll jump to the other early afternoon match and back NYRB to hold home side CF Montreal to fewer than two goals. Montreal has recorded two or more goals in just five of seven games this season, continuing a trend from last year that saw them record two or more goals in just two of 17 home matches and just seven of 34 overall. The home team is -145 to score fewer than two goals at the books, so Ethan Horvath makes the entry for the first time this season.
Staying in that same game, we’ll go to our first ever “passes” prop in the pick’em entry, a nice new touch to the MLS board at Underdog Fantasy. Hopefully we see more diversification of their offerings for MLS as the season rolls on. We don’t expect much offensive success for CF Montreal on Saturday, but Prince Owusu’s passes line of 14.5 feels too low regardless of matchup. Owusu is over this number in six of seven games this season and was over in 27 of 35 starts across all comps last year.
Using the standard payout selection (and the 40% profit boost token dropped in users accounts on Friday) on Underdog, this 3-pick entry will payout a prize of 8.7x your entry fee if successful.
We’ve added some additional plays that can be substituted in place of the props given above if you miss lock for one of those games, want to make additional entries or one of the given options doesn’t start. These are especially key in Week 8, as all three of the props in the main entry kick off by 1:30pm CT on Saturday. We will certainly be throwing in some additional entries regardless of the early afternoon result. Patreon members can feel free to reach out and discuss picks in the Discord. As always, the additional plays are listed in order of preference and we’re fine using these props in any entry.

Week 8 Picks
Austin FC
Double Chance -120
Given the recent form and injury report, we certainly did not come into the weekend thinking we’d be backing the Verde and Black at the books. But with Toronto FC without a handful of players including Djordje Mihailovic and Walker Zimmerman, this looks more like last year’s roster than what’s been out there in the opening weeks of 2026. Last season, Toronto lost or drew 14 of their 17 home matches, so we’re going to take Austin FC on the double chance considering the minimal juice.
Inter Miami
ML -105
The surprising MLS news of the week was the sudden departure of head coach Javier Mascherano, the latest chapter in the chaos that sometimes surrounds Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami. But we’re not worried about who is or isn’t on the sideline for a team like this. As long as the talented Miami attacking front is intact, it would feel wrong to pass up on this price at near even money. Playing in the elevation (this one is at Mile High in Denver) or not, this is clearly the more talented side.
FC Dallas
ML +105
On Saturday night we’re backing Frisco to accomplish what Austin FC couldn’t last weekend, defeat an LA Galaxy team coming in on short rest at home. Joseph Paintsil is back in the mix for LA, but they’re still without the leader of their back line, Jakob Glesnes. With Santi Moreno working his way into the FC Dallas lineup and Petar Musa on fire to begin the season, we’ll take Frisco to take all three points on Saturday night.
San Diego FC
ML +330
Rocky Mountains be damned this week! SDFC is on the road taking on Real Salt Lake this weekend and while we’re well aware of how tough it can be to win in Utah, the consistency of San Diego at this price is attractive. They’ve been alright away from home to start the year, going 1-1-1 across their three road matches. But they were the league’s best road team last year, recording 37 points from their 17 away fixtures, including a 3-1 win against RSL. We’ll back them to do it again in their second season, even with a litany of defenders out due to injury.
